The Value of Overdelivering

One thing I know for sure about Steve Manning...he overdelivers.

This morning I was more than a little worried about paying the asking price for his Write A Book Now course...so, I made a phone call. We had already discussed concerns that the first copy of the course had not arrived on time (who knows what snafu with the delivery service...) so this was perhaps my fourth phone call...every one of which reached him immediately and personally.

Apparently Steve had shipped at least two copies already...only one ever arrived. Partly because only the spam-bots seem to be finding me so far, I am still on my fixed income, as I have discussed for a year and more now...but the instant I raised that concern, my debt was completely forgiven.

(Now if only I can trust that his *payment processor* company believes the same way we do...:-) )

Now, a money-minded man might have worried about the loss of a few hundred dollars in revenue...but Steve knows differently. He knows that "losing" this sale is going to make him a friend for life, and cross-generate an absurdly high number of "free" publicity plugs for him and his business in the forseeable future, because when *I* am rich and famous, word will get around...and even before then, as much as I can.

Steve knows what I mean when I say that the very popular TV show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, is quite simply nothing more than a glorified Sears infomercial, and that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that...because in the end, aggressive publicity MAKES his business, and it IS his business.

Why did it work out this way?
Because his passion really is about turning as many people into successful writers as possible.
I'm not saying he would do the same thing for *anybody*...after all, it wasn't something I was expecting...I am saying that he knows how to deliver what he has promised, and then some.
