My room mate reports for annual welfare recertification tomorrow afternoon...at her own expense. This may not seem like a big deal, unless Uncle Sam conveniently "forgot" to issue a Social Security check in the first place, despite being notified more than a month in advance that her bank had recently changed.
Added to this, was a notice I had recieved two days ago, to the effect that I was potentially responsible for the full replacement costs of two compact discs from obscure labels I had never heard of, and a hardback book I which had recently returned to a mutual acquaintance, courtesy of our county public library system...
The problem?
All three items were checked to my library card...by a "recently" fired ex-PCA who had not seen me in more than six weeks, and had, of course, done so without my permission.
Of course, it doesn't help matters that in addition to being "between" Personal Care Aides, we are also just as much between medical doctors, social workers, AND psychotherapists, all at the same instant, before buying groceries or doing laundry for the month.
So...it will take about 20% of our remaining monthly household income, just to get to an appointment we don't want, and be peered at and shamed as if we are trying to "game the System," by a brand new kid fresh out of the latest incarnation of the Radical Left's Social Engineering Directorate...
End of today's political rant.
Success,
Wolfspyder
